Marcus Pernell: First Recipient, Global Learning Distinction Honor

Marcus D. Pernell Sr. is a native of the state of Alabama. He has retired with over 20 years of active duty military service and is a recent honor graduate of Troy University. He is also the first TROY student to receive the College of Education’s Global Learning Distinction award.

College of Education completes life-changing study and service in Africa

Five students and two professors traveled to Uganda during May 10-22 to learn powerful lessons and expand global awareness and understanding.

 

Students on the journey include Brittany Guris, majoring in American Sign Language Interpreter Training; Tyree McIntosh, Counseling and Rehabilitation; Nakisha Thomas, Social Work; Lydia Williams, Mass Communications; and Erin Woods, Student Affairs. Professors guiding include Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims, Associate Dean for the COE, and Dr. Meg Milligan, Associate Professor of Psychology.

Janisha Davis: Full-time mom, full-time Trojan

After losing her father to cancer, learning that she was pregnant with twins and losing a track scholarship, Janisha Davis found a track to success by transferring to Troy University.

During her junior year at Jacksonville State University, Davis tore a ligament in her knee, but she was informed that she could remain on scholarship.

 NEW ORLEANS – Troy senior cornerback Blace Brown has been named to the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List, the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame announced Monday. Brown, a Preseason Sun Belt First Team selection, enters the 2018 season second among active players with his 11 career interceptions.
